25 January, 2017 – WCPUN is pleased to participate in co-presenting 8 weeks of cutting edge environmental documentaries to educate, motivate and inspire people to take action about global sustainability challenges. Beginning on 25 January, with a presentation of Before The Flood, WCPUN will accompany the series, organized by the Environmental Coalition of Miami & the Beaches (ECOMB) and the Earth Ethics Institute at Miami Dade College, engaging participants in questions related to the films’ topics, as part of the “Global to Local-Local to Global” initiative of WCPUN and FIU Carta. University of Miami and Media for Change Professors and Documentarians joined to film some of the interviews. More Information
20 January, 2017 – Quito: Gema Álava will perform Confía en Mí: Trust Me in two art museums in Quito, Ecuador. The art project will be documented by Leslye Guayasamín and Danee Ramón, and presented to the public at the Museo Fundación Guayasamín.
14 January, 2017 – The Lions Club of Hong Kong (Pacific) participated in the “Lions Walk” annual fund raising activity for over 2000 members of District 303, to raise funds for community service projects. The estimated total funds raised from the event are HK$ 4 Million (US$520,000.). Two days later, on 16 January, the Lions Club of Hong Kong (Pacific) celebrated its 27th Anniversary, marking the exact day in 1990 when Dr. Charles Koo, esteemed WCPUN Board Member and International Adviser, chartered the club and became its Charter President.
