TRUST ME, Bogotá

WCPUN is pleased to feature the newest iteration of “TRUST ME,” a conceptual performance and relational art project by Spanish artist and WCPUN Cultural Adviser Gema Álava. Nominated by the Smithsonian Institution and awarded a Peter Reed Foundation Fellowship, the project invites participants to wear opaque glasses while Álava guides them through museums, exploring the boundary between seeing, imagining, and feeling and offering a perception-shifting experience that rethinks how we engage with art and space. Participants included Melissa Espinosa Salas, Jesús Gastelúm Valle, Sergio Guerrero Vargas, Sandra Oliveros, Valeria Ramirez, and Fernando Uhía, with documentation by Jennys Obando and María Angélica Bernal. The work will be presented at Dartmouth College.
