WCPUN has been pleased to serve as an Adviser for “Colores Auténticos de México,” an initiative by to provide training and economic opportunities to women in La Venta, Oaxaca, by combining their traditional embroidery with modern design. First International Conference for Migrants’ Rights

Centerpoint Now 2011 Launch at the Permanent Mission of Turkey to the UN

The 2011 edition of WCPUN publication Centerpoint Now (CPN) 2011 was launched at the Permanent Mission of Turkey, at an event organized in partnership with the Permanent Mission of Spain, the Permanent Mission of Qatar and the Secretariat of the Alliance of Civilizations. The diplomatic community and artists and authors featured in CPN came together for an evening of conversation on how the principles underpinning the Alliance of Civilizations manifest in different sectors and cultures. Speakers included; Mr. Marc Scheuer, Director of the Secretariat of the Alliance of Civilizations, Ms. Peri Uran, Professor of Constitutional Law, who explained the development of Turkey’s Constitution beginning with its roots in Ottoman times, and Ms. Gema Alava, Artist who presented her work “Trust Me.” The discussion was moderated by Shamina de Gonzaga – June 2011
